About the Service Overview

IIJ's Domain Registration Service provides registration and maintenance of your unique domain names.

  • You can also transfer domain names registered with other companies to come under IIJ management (change of designated operator).
  • This service also supports changing a generic top level domain (gTLD) registrar from another company to the Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd. (JPRS) (registrar transfer).

Domain Names That Can Be Registered with IIJ's Domain Registration Service

  • Attribute (organization identifier) JP domain name
    • Example: example.co.jp
  • General-use JP domain name, prefecture type JP domain name
    • Example: example.jp
  • gTLD (domain name ending in com, net, org, biz, info, or tokyo)
    • Example: example.com
