Message from the Newly Appointed President

My name is Eijiro Katsu, and I have been appointed president of Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ).

Since its establishment in 1992, IIJ has brought out the possibilities of the Internet by leading the commercial Internet market in Japan and providing a steady stream of services to meet customer needs. Leveraging the advanced technological capabilities gained through its Internet connectivity services, the company has broadened its business portfolio. Now we have grown into a corporate group capable of providing one-stop, comprehensive network solutions ranging from Internet access services to various outsourcing services, including cloud computing, as well as WAN services and systems integration and operation services.

With the growing popularity of smart devices and the widespread use of cloud services, along with　technological advancements in analyzing related information and big data, every kind of event is now being digitized and distributed via the Internet. In that sense, the Internet has become an indispensable social infrastructure for practically every business and individual. The IIJ Group is leveraging the expertise gained over its many years in the industry to continue developing innovative services that will be at the forefront of these major trends. To be successful, we must develop and provide new high-value-added services, including our focused service of cloud, with highly reliable network operation. With the view to aim for further growth and a wider scope of business, we will also engage more in our overseas business and tie-ups, and enhancing our business platform so we can compete domestically and internationally.

As it says in our name, "initiative" is our corporate spirit at IIJ, and we will demonstrate this through the continuous development of highly reliable services designed to meet the needs of the market. We are also committed to gaining the trust of customers and to contributing to the development of Japan’s IT society.
