TOKYO-January 18, 2016-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, and its 100% owned subsidiary IIJ Global Solutions Inc. (IIJ Global)-provider of WAN services for corporate clients-today announced the immediate addition of "Virtual Platform VW Series (VW Series)" to their lineup of options available as part of the cloud service that they offer in China IIJ GIO CHINA Service.
The IIJ GIO CHINA Service provides high-quality server environments that make full use of IIJ's years of expertise in operating the IIJ GIO Service in Japan. IIJ has been providing the IIJ GIO CHINA Service through its Shanghai-based Chinese subsidiary IIJ Global Solutions China Inc. since January 2013.
The new offering of the VW Series allows customers to freely design and implement operating systems and applications on VMware virtualization platforms, enabling them to migrate various OS they may be using, including customized editions. Thus the VW Series permits customers to rapidly build private cloud environments that work in combination with existing systems. This cloud service offers excellent flexibility and availability and is suitable for enterprise use, including mission-critical systems, e-commerce, and software as a service (SaaS).
For this enhancement of its service lineup, IIJ Global Solutions China Inc. has formed a partnership with the Chinese datacenter provider, Shanghai Data Solution Co., Ltd (SDS). SDS's datacenter operations have a customer base of more than 600 firms, consisting primarily of foreign-funded, finance-related, and other major enterprises. Through this partnership, IIJ Global Solutions China Inc. will work with SDS to enhance its local sales and operational support structures. The two companies also expand a lineup of services to meet a wide range of cloud-related customer needs encompassing public clouds as well as private/hybrid clouds, thus promoting the adoption and embracing of cloud services among local and Japanese enterprises in China.
The IIJ Group will continue to actively develop competitively priced, high-quality cloud services for the Chinese market that flexibly meet customers' network environment and system requirements.
