TOKYO-April 3, 2017-JOCDN Inc. (JOCDN) today announced that it allocated shares of its stock to Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774); five major commercial broadcasters headquartered in Tokyo-Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV), TV Asahi Holdings Corporation, Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc., TV TOKYO Holdings Corporation, and Fuji Television Network, Inc.; and 10 TV stations in Osaka and Nagoya. This allocation of shares to 16 total companies was executed on April 3, 2017.
JOCDN is a joint venture between IIJ and Nippon TV, founded on December 1, 2016(*). It works to develop a video content distribution platform for use in Japan. This third-party allotment of shares will strengthen the company's business foundation, so that it can continue to provide high-quality, cost-effective content delivery network (CDN) services to broadcasters and video distributors. Through its cooperation with IIJ and commercial broadcasting companies, JOCDN will continue developing technologies to support broadcasting and communications infrastructure in Japan.
With this increased capital, JOCDN's shares are allocated to the below 16 companies and the total of its capital and capital reserves is JPY 710 million.
