TOKYO-March 28, 2019-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the release of its proprietary networking devices, the SEIL/X4 and SA-W2L enterprise routers.
Since 1998, IIJ has developed and designed high-performance enterprise routers. The latest release, the SEIL/X4, is the flagship model of the SEIL series. It was painstakingly designed to meet IIJ users' operational needs so that it will find use in a broad range of networking environments. The use of a multicore CPU dramatically improves its performance over conventional models, and users can install it as the central VPN device for large-scale networks.
The SA-W2L is an SACM(*) service adapter, used in the remote unified management of device information. When connecting the SA-W2L to a network, it uses zero-configuration protocols to automatically be assigned configuration settings. The device comes equipped with the latest LTE module, and it is compatible with IIJ Mobile Service/Type I, which IIJ offers as a full MVNO. Therefore, users can utilize the service's SIM lifecycle management function, thereby reducing costs for mobile lines and ensuring flexible network administration. DAIICHIKOSHO CO., LTD. is currently considering adopting the SA-W2L.
Both devices are scheduled to support IIJ Omnibus Service, IIJ's cloud-based networking service.

The SA-W2L has a built-in SIM slot. It supports IIJ Mobile Service, IIJ's enterprise data transmission service, both in Type D (NTT Docomo's LTE/3G network) and Type 1 (IIJ's full MVNO service). With its included SIM slot, the SA-W2L mitigates theft risks and concerns about installation space for mobile data transmission devices.
Performance | Forwarding rate approximately 800 Mbps/VPN rate approximately 200 Mbps |

VPN, wireless LAN, and other functions make up "recipes," and IIJ offers users only the recipes they need from its cloud services direct to the SACM service adapter. The service adapter is free, and users pay monthly fees for the recipes they use.
IIJ continues to support its users' networking platforms by leveraging the knowledge it has gained through many years of network operation and administration.
