IIJ Acquires Malaysian Firm PTC SYSTEMS SDN.BHD. as Wholly Owned Subsidiary | News

TOKYO - December 1, 2023 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. ("IIJ", TSE Prime: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that IIJ has acquired all outstanding shares of the Malaysian system integration services company PTC SYSTEMS SDN.BHD. (“PTC Malaysia”), making it a wholly owned subsidiary, as of December 1, 2023.

PTC Malaysia was established by the founder of PTC SYSTEM (S) PTE LTD ("PTC Singapore"), which IIJ acquired in April 2021. While small in its business scale, PTC Malaysia provides high-quality solutions in Malaysia, mainly storage server-related system provisioning, and has built up an excellent customer base, including global corporations and leading local companies, as well as forming good relations with IT equipment vendors.

To advance IIJ Group's global business, the group has been expanding its overseas presence, starting with the United States, Europe and now mainly in Asia. The decision to acquire PTC Malaysia as a subsidiary is based on the expectation that it will contribute to global business of the IIJ Group by acquiring management personnel with a wealth of business experience in Malaysia and establishing a business base in Malaysia with access to local customers.

PTC Malaysia, while working to expand its business operations by leveraging IIJ Group's wide-ranging network solutions and large customer base consists of global Japanese companies, will play a leading role in global business development of the IIJ Group, primarily in Malaysia.
